Friday Favorites | #1

Hello Lovelies,
It's finally Friday and the weekend is upon us! In fact, this will be my last weekend home before I move into my dorm room at school. Eek!
So today, I thought I'd share with you some things that I've been loving lately.

Pink Tribal Wristlet
I am all about the tribal patterns, and when I saw this wristlet at Target I couldn't resist. It is perfect to carry around by itself with the handy wrist strap, but I also pop in my purse and use it as a wallet. Inside, there's a clear spot for your ID or license (always a must, for me!) and a little compartment to fit your cell phone.

Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10
To be quite honest, this acne treatment scared me a bit when I took it home from the store. I'd never used benzoyl peroxide to help treat blemishes - always salicylic acid - but Ingrid of missglamorazzi over on YouTube raved about it, and since we have similar skin types I figured I'd give it a shot. While this is definitely really drying (it recommends application 1-3 times daily, but with just one my skin feels very dry), it does help clear up blemishes quickly!

Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara
This mascara caught my eye because if it's creative packaging, and the formula is nice too! I wouldn't say it's my favorite mascara, but it is volumizing and lengthening and really black, which I love. I will warn you, though: be careful with multiple coats, it can get a little clumpy!

Aeropostale Elephant Watch
I love this watch. That's really all I have to say. It's adorable, with a cute elephant on the face and a nice brown strap. The best part is, it fits on my teeny wrist!

Claire's Sleep Mask
When I saw this eye mask at Claire's, I knew I had to have it. I actually brought it with me when my family went camping, and it did a great job blocking out the early morning light in the tent, plus it's super soft and comfortable to wear.

What have you been loving lately?

Granny Takes A Dip Bath Bomb | LUSH Review

Hello lovelies,
We've made it to August and that means cool nights here in New England, and I've certainly been taking advantage of that! I've got to get as many baths in as I can before I head off to college.
I recently stopped by LUSH and picked up a few bath time goodies, including this beauty:

Granny Takes A Dip Bath Bomb
First of all, can we talk about how cool it looks? I'm torn between saying it looks like a planet, an eyeball, and a gobstopper chopped in half.

Secondly, it's massive! Look at my thumb, look at the bath bomb, look at my thumb, look at the bath bomb. . . The only downside to its size, was it it take a while to fully dissolve.

My bath tub's not dirty; it's the bath bomb! Promise!
The girl at the store said it would look tie-dyed as it dissolved, but it was mostly the pink color with a weird brownish tint - think melted Rainbow Dippin' Dots.
Lemon, ginger, and black pepper combined to make a calming and wonderful scent. I could still smell it on my skin long after I drained the tub!
Regardless of the color, the time it took to dissolve, and - let's be real - its name {Who is Granny, anyway?}, this is probably my favorite bath bomb. It smelled delicious, and left my skin feeling silky soft and moisturized, but not sticky.

Dissolvability (Pretty sure I just made that word up):  7/10
Appearance: 10/10
Color: 8/10
Scent: 10/10
Overall: 10/10

Told you I loved it!

What are your favorite bath products?

Let's Start Over

Hi...Hey...Howdy...Hello....

Obviously, I'm not sure how to start this blog post. It's been way too long and I seem to be a bit out practice {not that I blogged that much in the past, either}.
So, let's get reacquainted, shall we?
Hi.
My name's Abigail.
I'm a recent high school graduate {eek!} with a passion for beauty, fashion, and writing that brought me to start this blog way back in April of last year.
I'll be heading off to college in the fall and I'm hoping to study communication. Although, that might change tomorrow. In the past year, I've gone from thinking I'd end up studying pre-med, to thinking I'd go to art school, to thinking I'd like to take a gap year and travel Europe.
You'll come to find out that I'm a bit indecisive.
I've worked in retail for the past year, which has really helped to shape my personal style, but will sadly be leaving that job in the coming weeks to focus on getting ready for school and have a little bit of a summer vacation with my family.
I've been binge-listening to Ed Sheeran's X lately, and probably will until his next album is released. It's basically perfection in album form.

So, shall we venture into the blogging universe together. . .again? I'd love to have you along for the ride!

xoxo,
Abigail

Geek Chic

Hello lovelies!
Whew! I didn't think I was going to be able to get this post up today.
You know those pants that you put on and feel like you can take on the world? Well, these are those pants. They're high waisted - Not as high-waisted as they look in the photos, I happened to be wearing a black tank that blended right in! - and just make me feel like a million bucks. I wish I had a pair to wear everyday!

Outfit Details:
 'GEEK' Shirt: Rue21
Black Skinnies: PacSun

What piece in your closet makes you feel fabulous?

Maxi - Waxi

Hello Lovelies,

Why the weird title, you ask? Well, my dog's name is Max and sometimes I call him "Maxie Waxie"; so every time I wear a maxi skirt, I think of that!
This skirt was one of my summer staples - I wore it A LOT! I was a little sad when fall rolled around, thinking I wouldn't be able to wear it. Then I had a lightbulb-over-my-head moment: of course I could still wear it! Who says you can't wear an ombre orange maxi in the fall? Needless to say, it's transitioned into my fall wardrobe nicely.

Outfit Details:
Striped Shirt: Sears
Ombre Maxi Skirt: Rue21
Boots: American Eagle (?)
Necklace: Charlotte Russe
When this post goes up, I'll be off touring a couple colleges in Upstate New York. Where has the time gone? Wasn't I just in third grade, like, yesterday?! I may be slightly freaking out! Plus, I have no idea what I want to major in. I've found myself wishing that life worked like the world in Divergent. {Have you read that series? I would highly recommend it - if you love the Hunger Games you'll probably love Divergent! Plus, the movie version comes out in the spring!}

Any advice for my college search? I'd love to hear from you!

Lovin' Lately #2

Hi Lovelies!
Remember that one time I tried to start the series, 'Lovin' Lately?' No? Oh, well I'm starting it again!
So, just as a refresher, in these posts {which I'll do once a month} you'll get a peak at what I've been. . .well. . .Lovin' Lately! A monthly favorites post, if you will.
Now that September is old news - which, can I just say, is nuts! - it's time for the second installation of Lovin' Lately. This month, I've been loving all sorts of things, so, without further ado, here they are!

Skincare:
FREEMAN's Facial Polishing Mask - Charcoal and Black Sugar

I'm not sure if I'm alone in this, but exfoliating is one of my favorite parts of my skincare routine. I love getting off all the gunk, grime, and dead skin {too graphic?} and revealing baby-soft skin! I also love face masks! So, when I saw this little beauty at RiteAid, I couldn't resist. Let me just say, it's a little tricky to apply, but once you get the hang of it, it works like a charm!

Makeup:
Maybelline Color Sensations Vivid in Vibrant Mandarin

I am totally a lipstick gal; it's just the perfect accessory no matter what you're wearing, and this month I've really been loving this fabulous orangey-red color! It's super pigmented and -wait for it - it doesn't dry out your lips! I wore it in my Fallin' In Love post, and - would you believe it - my dad actually picked it out at the store. Serious brownie points in the Dad Department.

Pin:
'You Can't Sit With Us.' Tank.
Hello, my name is Abigail and I am a Pin-a-holic. I get all sorts of inspiration from Pinterest. Fashion ideas, DIY projects, recipes, quotes, you name it! I think only two words need to be said about this pin: Mean. Girls. Also, this shirt is fabulous and I will probably be ordering it off of Etsy very soon.
{P.S. Follow me on Pinterest here!}

Music:

Okay, so technically, I found this fabulous mash-up in October, but it's too good not to share. Basically, it's the music to Mumford & Sons' Little Lion Man with the singing from Miley Cyrus's Wrecking Ball. Let's just say the music video is a little bit more. . .covered up than the original for Wrecking Ball.

What have you been loving this past month?

Striped

Hello lovelies!

Another Monday, another post. It's pretty rainy and dreary today, and I have five million and one things to get done. Not a good mix.  And no, I am definitely not procrastinating by writing this blog post. Definitely not! Well. . .there's a slight  chance that I could be. But seriously, how can I stay on task when there's a post to be written and a Bloglovin' feed just a click away?

Outfit Details:
Cross Scarf: Rue21
Grey Top: Forever21
Striped Jeans: Aeropostale
Boots: Forever21
Sunglasses: Charlotte Russe
I wore this outfit a few weeks ago, and I loved it so much that I couldn't help sharing it! Plus, I was definitely having a good hair day, and if you have crazy curly hair, you know how few and far between those can be! My dad happened to snap this photo with his cell phone {he did capture his work boots, too, but they've been since cropped out} when I visited him at his job site for lunch. It was such a beautiful day, and sitting by a lake made it even better!

Well, I suppose I should get back to my to-do list. What do you do when you just can't concentrate? I could use a tip or two!
