Geek Chic

Hello lovelies!
Whew! I didn't think I was going to be able to get this post up today.
You know those pants that you put on and feel like you can take on the world? Well, these are those pants. They're high waisted - Not as high-waisted as they look in the photos, I happened to be wearing a black tank that blended right in! - and just make me feel like a million bucks. I wish I had a pair to wear everyday!

Outfit Details:
 'GEEK' Shirt: Rue21
Black Skinnies: PacSun
Military Jacket: Hollister
Leopar Flats: TJ Maxx (?)
Necklace: Claire's (?)
What piece in your closet makes you feel fabulous?

Maxi - Waxi

Hello Lovelies,

Why the weird title, you ask? Well, my dog's name is Max and sometimes I call him "Maxie Waxie"; so every time I wear a maxi skirt, I think of that!
This skirt was one of my summer staples - I wore it A LOT! I was a little sad when fall rolled around, thinking I wouldn't be able to wear it. Then I had a lightbulb-over-my-head moment: of course I could still wear it! Who says you can't wear an ombre orange maxi in the fall? Needless to say, it's transitioned into my fall wardrobe nicely.

Outfit Details:
Striped Shirt: Sears
Ombre Maxi Skirt: Rue21
Boots: American Eagle (?)
Necklace: Charlotte Russe
When this post goes up, I'll be off touring a couple colleges in Upstate New York. Where has the time gone? Wasn't I just in third grade, like, yesterday?! I may be slightly freaking out! Plus, I have no idea what I want to major in. I've found myself wishing that life worked like the world in Divergent. {Have you read that series? I would highly recommend it - if you love the Hunger Games you'll probably love Divergent! Plus, the movie version comes out in the spring!}

Any advice for my college search? I'd love to hear from you!

Lovin' Lately #2

Hi Lovelies!
Remember that one time I tried to start the series, 'Lovin' Lately?' No? Oh, well I'm starting it again!
So, just as a refresher, in these posts {which I'll do once a month} you'll get a peak at what I've been. . .well. . .Lovin' Lately! A monthly favorites post, if you will.
Now that September is old news - which, can I just say, is nuts! - it's time for the second installation of Lovin' Lately. This month, I've been loving all sorts of things, so, without further ado, here they are!

Skincare:
FREEMAN's Facial Polishing Mask - Charcoal and Black Sugar

I'm not sure if I'm alone in this, but exfoliating is one of my favorite parts of my skincare routine. I love getting off all the gunk, grime, and dead skin {too graphic?} and revealing baby-soft skin! I also love face masks! So, when I saw this little beauty at RiteAid, I couldn't resist. Let me just say, it's a little tricky to apply, but once you get the hang of it, it works like a charm!

Makeup:
Maybelline Color Sensations Vivid in Vibrant Mandarin

I am totally a lipstick gal; it's just the perfect accessory no matter what you're wearing, and this month I've really been loving this fabulous orangey-red color! It's super pigmented and -wait for it - it doesn't dry out your lips! I wore it in my Fallin' In Love post, and - would you believe it - my dad actually picked it out at the store. Serious brownie points in the Dad Department.

Pin:
'You Can't Sit With Us.' Tank.
Hello, my name is Abigail and I am a Pin-a-holic. I get all sorts of inspiration from Pinterest. Fashion ideas, DIY projects, recipes, quotes, you name it! I think only two words need to be said about this pin: Mean. Girls. Also, this shirt is fabulous and I will probably be ordering it off of Etsy very soon.
{P.S. Follow me on Pinterest here!}

Music:

Okay, so technically, I found this fabulous mash-up in October, but it's too good not to share. Basically, it's the music to Mumford & Sons' Little Lion Man with the singing from Miley Cyrus's Wrecking Ball. Let's just say the music video is a little bit more. . .covered up than the original for Wrecking Ball.

What have you been loving this past month?

Striped

Hello lovelies!

Another Monday, another post. It's pretty rainy and dreary today, and I have five million and one things to get done. Not a good mix.  And no, I am definitely not procrastinating by writing this blog post. Definitely not! Well. . .there's a slight  chance that I could be. But seriously, how can I stay on task when there's a post to be written and a Bloglovin' feed just a click away?

Outfit Details:
Cross Scarf: Rue21
Grey Top: Forever21
Striped Jeans: Aeropostale
Boots: Forever21
Sunglasses: Charlotte Russe
I wore this outfit a few weeks ago, and I loved it so much that I couldn't help sharing it! Plus, I was definitely having a good hair day, and if you have crazy curly hair, you know how few and far between those can be! My dad happened to snap this photo with his cell phone {he did capture his work boots, too, but they've been since cropped out} when I visited him at his job site for lunch. It was such a beautiful day, and sitting by a lake made it even better!

Well, I suppose I should get back to my to-do list. What do you do when you just can't concentrate? I could use a tip or two!

Apple Picking

Hello Lovelies,
My family and I went away for the weekend to our favorite spot by the ocean. It was a lovely weekend weather-wise, but it was also great to just get away and not think about work or school or any other responsibilities. I probably ate my bodyweight in the yummiest food and had too much fun wandered around the cute little boutiques and specialty shops in the area. We all need weekends like that, no?

A snap of the bay at low tide.

On the way home, we stopped by a local apple orchard to pick some fresh apples and also grab a few pumpkins.I still can't believe it's nearly pumpkin carving season! Where does the time go?! As usual, we also got some fresh apple cider and - my favorite - apple cider donuts! They're so sugary and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, it's hard to eat just one!

These floral pants are one of my favorite finds at Forever21 this year. The boots I got last year and just recently had a near fatal hot oil spill on them {and on my legs, but shoes are so much more important than body parts, am I right? ;) }. Thanks to a few DIY Get-Oil-Out-Of-Boots recipes, they were victorious and I'll be getting another season's of wear out of them!

Outfit Details:
Top: Rue21
Floral Pants: Forever21
Combat Boots: Forever21

Apple picking is definitely one of my favorite Fall traditions. What're your favorite traditions? I'd love to hear about them!

Fallin' in Love

Hey, hey lovelies!
Long time no talk! Have I really not blogged since April? Oh dear! It's been a whirlwind of a summer and I think I'm just now catching my breath. Just in time for another crazy season. But, hey, I'm not complaining because around here the leaves are changing, the air's getting colder. It's officially Fall! And Fall is definitely my favorite season. I'm not sure if it's the pumpkin-flavored-everything or fresh apples or just being able to sit outside and not completely melt {or freeze}, but I just can't get enough of it! I've also always loved fall fashion. There's something so chic about layering up a scarf, a cozy sweater, and those pants you've been waiting all summer to wear. No scarf in the look below, but I've certainly been loving this super-soft sweater, so much so that I just noticed it has a hole in it! Boo-hoo!

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Target
Polka-Dot Blouse: K-Mart
High Waisted Pants: PacSun
Shoes: TOMS Shoes
Studded Bag: Rue21
Watch: Rue21

What are your favorite parts about Fall?

Mini Beauty Haul

Hello Lovelies!

Earlier in the week, my sister and I paid a visit to a couple drug stores. She grabbed a Lisa Frank clipboard/coloring set (I'm pretty sure I had something similar when I was her age) and I picked up a few beauty supplies.
My attempted artistic shot.
Julie G Nail Polish in Gelato In Venice : I was about to pick up Essie's Mint Candy Apple when this little bottle caught my eye. It was half the price of Essie nail polish, so I sort of figured it would also be half the quality, but, so far, I'm loving it!

C. Booth Buttercream Body Souffle : Let's just say this smells like heaven, and if I didn't know better, I'd say it was a tub of buttercream frosting! Not only does it smell like heaven, but it also feels like heaven. I think I'm in love.

Essie Nail Polish in Adore-a-Ball : Let's be real, Essie is fabulous. I haven't found a nail polish of theirs that I haven't liked. Adore-a-Ball is no exception, it's the perfect light-light pink (think french manicure pink) for when you're not feeling like a colored nail, but also don't want them naked!

Revlon CustomEyes Shadow & Liner in Gold Spun : The palette includes a shimmery black (meant to be the liner - but I'm not too big on powder-as-a-liner), a shimmery gold, a matte light brown, a shimmery white, and a shimmery dark brown. I haven't actually tried this on my eyes yet, but I did swipe the shades on my wrist and found that they're not super pigmented. However, I think it should be a nice little palette to pop in my purse.

Have you tried any of these products before? What do you think?

{YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL}

Hello lovelies!

Lots of my Facebook friends have been sharing this video over the past week. I thought it mind be worth a watch, and let me tell you, it certainly was!
According to Dove, only 4% of women worldwide consider themselves beautiful. ONLY FOUR PERCENT. But guess what! You ARE beautiful.

Take a couple minutes out of your day and hit 'play.' I can promise you'll be glad you did.

PEPLUM + COLOR POP

Hello lovelies!
It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood today {cue Mr. Rodger's Neighborhood theme song} and actually felt a bit like spring! Hurray!
I saw The Host today with some friends. I had pretty high expectations because I really enjoyed the book, but sadly the movie wasn't my favorite. I felt like they went through the storyline so quickly and everything happened all at once.

Anyways, here's what I wore! It wasn't quite warm enough to go without a jacket, but I really loved the sleeves on my top so I froze for most of the day! ;)

{Jacket - Hollister}
{Perplum Top - Rue21}
{Pants - Walmart (can you believe it?!)}
{Leopard Flats - TJ MAXX}

{Bag - Rue21}

{Necklace - Claire's}
I think this bag will become a staple in my spring/summer wardrobe! What's your favorite spring outfit?

EASTER!

Hello lovelies!
In typical Abigail fashion, I'm wishing you a happy Easter a couple days late (or maybe early for next year, hmm?). I hope your day was fabulous - mine sure was!

My family headed down to my Dad's side for the weekend which is always a good time. My Grandmother fills and hides eggs for all of us grandkids, no matter how old we are, and it never ceases to be the highlight of my Easter!  I got to see some cousins and aunts and uncles I hadn't seen in ages and just basically had tons of fun!
So, much fun that there really wasn't any time to take photos of my outfit, and I thought it was rather blog-worthy.
But thankfully, during the hunt, my Dad snapped some photos so you can get a peak at what I wore.

{Cousin Sam and her Easter ears.}

{Action Shot}
{Blazer - Kohls}
{Black Button Up Dress (tucked in as shirt) - TJ MAXX}
{Coral Skirt - American Eagle}
{Statement Necklace - Rue 21}
{Leopard Flats - TJ MAXX}
Well, I hope you enjoyed those rather awkward pictures! What are your favorite Easter traditions?

Business Cozy

Hello lovelies!

I'd put this post up a few weeks ago when I first started blogging, but I took it down. And now. . .it's back!
I wore this outfit to a business meeting on a rather gross winter day. It was one of those days when laying in bed with a cup of tea and a cozy blanket is the only thing that sounds good; unfortunately, duty calls. Thank goodness the meeting was at a local cafe or else I would have really had to get dressed up! ;)

{Sweater - Tommy Hilfiger}
{Button Up - Forever21}
{Cords - Forever21}

{Don't mind my dead-looking feet.}
{Flats - TJ MAXX}

{Necklace - Forever 21}

What's your go-to outfit when your not feeling up to doing anything?

Lovin' Lately

Hello lovelies!
I've seen this post done by a lot of my favorite bloggers; some call it 'Friday Favorites,' others 'Weekly Favorites,' and still more 'Loving Lately,' like me!
Basically, this'll just be a round-up of the things that I've been loving - pretty self explanatory.

ON MY FACE:
L'OREAL True Match Foundation - I'm wearing the shade 'n1 - Soft Ivory' in the next photo.

ON MY HEAD:
It hasn't exactly been spring around here, so this super cute head wrap has been keeping my ears toasty!

IN MY EARS:

Some of my favorite albums.
IN MY MOUTH:
Yummy, yummy York Peppermint Patties from a lovely friend!
ON MY EYES:

A subtle winged eyeliner - I'm loving Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Definer in 211 Sable.

Alright, so thats {some of} what I've been loving over the past days and weeks and months and years {okay, maybe not that far}.

What're you loving?

{ONE}

Hello lovelies!

I saw this great quote on Pinterest, and it was one of those quotes that totally spoke to how I was feeling.
I've been following quite a few Fashion/Beauty/Lifestyle blogs for quite a while and it was just one of those, "Well, why can't I do that?" moments.
I'd been wanting to start blogging for a while, but I've just been thinking up all the reasons why it wont work {I mean, who would really want to read all of my ramblings?} instead of focusing on the reasons why blogging is a good idea.

So anyways, here's my blog. A little bit of fashion. A little bit of beauty. And a little bit of the thing we call life. It's sure to be an adventure!

Care to join me?
